Sorry for the delay in the brag but here goes……

This weekend four of the Koping kids competed in the Lethbridge Kennel Club dog show. And VERY proud to report that not only did they all show well and get points/Q’s they were well mannered and happy go-lucky confident Weimaraners!

On Friday, Julia multi-tasked and not only helped in the show ring but also had GG (the Cavalier) and Tea in the Rally ring. GG earned her third Q in Rally Novice and hence earned the RN title at the end of her name. As well, Tea qualified in Rally Advanced!
JB (Tea x Jimmy Choo) won BOW for 2pts and True won BOB. True went on to make the cut of 6 in the very competitive Sporting Group and then JB went on and won BPIG!!
Saturday and Sunday were just show days and again the Koping Weims shined.
Saturday JB won BOW for 2pts and True not only won BOB but went on to take Group 4!!
Sunday JB won WD for 1 pt and Stiletto (Tea x Jimmy Choo) won BOW for 2pts and True BOB. True again got recognized as a very young promising weim and made the cut of 6 in the Group and Stiletto went on to win BPIG!!

Well done Koping crew!!!!

P!nk in Belton, Texas!!!

Pat and P!nk traveled to Belton, Texas and attended the Stephenville Show Cluster that included the Lone Star Weimaraner Specialties as well as an all breed agility trial. P!nk not only picked up Select points in the breed ring toward working on her Grand Championship, but she completed her Rally Novice title and picked up a Novice FAST Q and Novice Standard Q. P!nk was a delightful little girl to travel with and so proud and pleased with her accomplishments in all of the disciplines she competed in!! Pat also got to hang out and visit with Dana, Susan and a bunch of Win'Weim dogs and owners. Goose as always was delightful to visit with and STUNNING to watch in the show ring!! The Lone Star Weim Club will be hosting the WCA Nationals at this same show site in October 2012 --- it should be tons of fun for all that attend!!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Did you know?
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer).
In 2011, an estimated 23,400 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 5,100 will die of it.
An estimated 190 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 55 will die of it.
On average, 64 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer every day.
Breast cancer incidence rose steadily from 1980 to the early 1990s, partly because of increased mammography screening. Breast cancer death rates have declined in every age group since at least the mid 1980s

Rayne

July 19, 1996 - September 20, 2011

Rayne was my first in so many things, my first Weimaraner, my first Competitive agility dog, my first obedience dog, my first CKC registered dog. I learned so much from Rayne, the fun of agility, oh and exactly how stubborn a Weimaraner could be, to travel with a dog and be part of a team competing, no matter what the outcome, I learned how much a dog could hate the command down and I learned patience. Oh Rayne taught me patience.

Seeing that ad in the paper and deciding to go out and meet Rayne (she was called Bess at the time) was one of the best things I ever decided to do. To accept the challenge of a very smart girl who so many people had given up on and watch her learn to trust me and finally know she was in her forever home is something I will always treasure. Mostly I learned how much fun it could be to do dog sports, to work as a team (well most of the time) , to have great runs, and some not so great runs.

Rayne made me totally fall in love with an amazing breed and I can't imagine my life without a Weim or two.and I can't imagine my life without Rayne. Sadly I now have to face that reality. Rayne was one of the kindest sweetest dogs I have ever had the privilege to have in my life, she could be tough and stubborn oh so stubborn but then sweet and snuggly.. I wouldn't change a thing about her..she was perfect and I learned so much from her. I will always remember our first off leash run when I got her and the joy in her face of just running with Bo and enjoying life..

She will always be in my heart and although there will be others there will never be another Rayne.

~Julia

--------
I am thankful that Julia and Rayne found each other so many years ago, because I think their love and camaraderie is what has fed Julia's 'addiction' for Weimaraners and for that I along with Koping Weimaraners is thankful. Rayne will be missed by all who's lives she touched. PK

"Koping Weims dominated the "field" for successful passes at the German Shepherd Dog Club of Edmonton tracking test this past weekend. In Garmin's first tracking test ever, he ran track #8 and was all business, pulling me to the small leather piece end article without any hesitation at all. Very VERY proud of him and his love of tracking! It was so special to be able to share the successes that day with his sister P!nk and cousin JC!! Congrats to them and their great handler PK!! KRAMER" - CH Koping's Tale of Exaggerations August 22, 1999 - September 6, 2011

On Tuesday evening, Kramer crossed over the Rainbow bridge, where he will join fellow Koping Weimaraner that have crossed before him - Catcher, Jacob and Mackenzie. A huge void has been left in the Cross family's household. Kramer was a buddy, friend, confidant, companion, walking partner and unconditionally loving family member to Don, Joan, Catherine and Glenna. It seems just like the other day this family was visiting my first Koping litter of puppies and anxiously awaiting the day they could take their beloved new family member, 'green collar' boy, home. Kramer will not only be missed by the Cross family and Koping Weimaraner family but also the local weim community since he was an integral member of the seasonal 'Calgary Weim walks'. I will cherish the last Koping group walk that Kramer joined us on this past spring. His happy wiggle bum greeted all the greys as well as his 'grandma-Pat'. Rest in Peace dear Kramer. Xoxo

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

WALK THIS WAY

"LuLu -- Koping's Dangerous Stretch is visiting Kamp Koping and was able to meet up with her sister, Stiletto - Koping's Dangerous Heights, and her great-uncle Stryker to go for a run (well actually it was so hot that it ended up being more of a walk/romp)"

Koping Weimaraners participate in the Alberta Kennel Club's Breeder Group Stakes

After BIS on Saturday July 30th the AKC hosted this event to celebrate purebred dog breeders in their respective Groups then Best Overall. A breeder would be the first to enter the ring with one of the dogs they bred along with two other handlers and all three dogs they bred to be judged a 'unit'. Great-grandma-Paige came out of 'retirement' and hung out at the dog show on Saturday and then entered the ring with her two great grandkids - True & P!nk. By 7:30pm the young ones were a little 'loopy' but Paige kept her composure and had a blast going in the ring and 'strutting her stuff'. Thanks to Kerri and Michelle for helping handle the weim-girls!

Koping Weimaraners do well at Alberta Kennel Club Summer Classic!!

So proud of all the Koping kids that participated in conformation over the weekend!

With very strong competition, it was nice to see 13 month old "True" (Am/Can Ch Koping Win'Weim Say It's True) win Best of Breed both days he was entered and look very lovely and competitive in the Sporting Group. As well, "Jimmy Choo" (Am/Can Ch Win'Weim Better Wear Jimmy Choo at Koping) and his half brother "True" showed twice in the Brace conformation -- they looked like lovely mirror images that moved for the most part in unison!

And for the first time at the AKC Summer Classic they offered a baby puppy (under 6 months of age) competition and 4 1/2 month old "Stiletto" (Koping Dangerous Heights) won BEST BABY PUPPY IN SPORTING GROUP in her show debut! She was stellar with a rock solid stack & temperment!
